NonProfitTHRIVE.com showing off its advantages to Boone County nonprofits

THINKER NEWS – NonProfitTHRIVE.com, a Freeport, Ill.-based company, hoping to use modern tools to help nonprofits recruit, connect and track volunteers, is hoping to expand its network in Boone County, Ill.

The Belvidere Family YMCA and United Way of Boone County are jointly hosting an event on November 30 for more northern Illinois nonprofits to learn about NonProfitTHRIVE.com.

Launched earlier in 2016, NonProfitTHRIVE.com is a match-making service where nonprofits can post volunteer openings or events and those interested in helping can sign up and look over the opportunities. If one fits, they can sign up directly or they can click on a heart icon that will allow them to “follow” that organization. They will then be notified when other opportunities arise.

NonProfitTHRIVE.com was started by Freeport chiropractor Nicole Sdao, who believes connecting with potential volunteers through modern tools can change a troubling trend in the United States. According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the percentage of people volunteering at least one hour of their time in a given year to a nonprofit organization dropped from 28.8 percent in 2005 to 24.9 percent in 2015.

NonProfitTHRIVE.com isn’t the only company to offer digital volunteer match-making, but what makes the program different is that it also automatically tracks volunteer hours, taking the responsibility off of volunteers, nonprofits or businesses.
